Lées in the Wikipedia

This article comes from the French Wikipedia, and it refers to the two villages of Lées and Athas. There are several things of note.

Lees is mentioned in the charters of the bishopric of Oloron in 1215, the same year as the Magna Carta of England. In 1385 Lées consisted of 29 hearths (the way of counting houses). The population of the two villages has never reached 1000 and today it is under 300.

The section on the economy of the region mentions sheep and cattle and their cheese, a sawmill, and fish farming.

Its architectual heritage includes houses from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The Church was founded in the 12th century.
