| On the west wall of the West Wing was a manger for feeding the cattle. The rack to hold the hay is a common feature in old French barns. The beam into the wall holding the loft floor sagged about ten inches and had rotted off because the roof above it was open to the weather at some time in the past. Unfortunately the beam and stakes of the rack needed to be removed for a stairway, but the trough below remains. | ||||||||
