| Now the fireplace niche is the headboard of the bed for this room. In place of the mantle, Clark put a lintel and filled the intervening space to the ceiling beam with stone. The pounded-earth floor was dug out, concrete took its place and on top of that we laid a floor of 6 x 6 stones. | ||||||||
