The floor was covered with river rock, set on edge, so that the animals had traction as their hooves penetrated the muck. So the muck could be cleaned out, the floor fell about a foot from the back of the stall to the door.

Heidi and Clark decided they might want to reuse the river rock so they wheel-barrowed it out into the back yard.
