| The top of this picture shows the ceiling had also been removed in March and by our June visit, it was clear we had to move beyond cleaning and start actual work on renovation. Clark decided we could start with the floor in the Lower East Side. That entailed removing about a foot of pounded earth floor and burying the plumbing and the electrical conduit. To do this job we had no equipment beyond a pickaxe, shovels and wheelbarrows. | ||||||||
